Child Support and Spousal Maintenance Modification

Colorado law requires a "substantial and continuing change" in personal circumstances of either party to approve modification of child support. The general benchmark is a 10 percent increase or decrease in the support obligation, such as a big raise or an employment layoff. I also represent clients in petitions to terminate child support or maintenance.

Often the other parent or ex-spouse tries to shield assets through family or friends, or exaggerates child-rearing expenses.
